YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL

the you are beautiful movement is not our brainchild but it is our very favorite cause/campaign/passion. all content from this page comes DIRECTLY from the "you are Beautiful" OFFICIAL website!!! ENJOY

Simply put, we want to make life a little better.

Three short words. One powerful message.

A small tiny sticker, shared over 1 million times, creating smiles on every continent of the world (including Antarctica).

It's an idea.

You Are Beautiful is more than a little sticker, it’s an idea. It’s a way to brighten someone’s day, a way to pat a stranger on the back, a way to remind ourselves that even when things aren’t going great, it’s ok.

It began simply with 100 stickers in 2002 in Chicago, and has since evolved into block-long murals, public installations, and exhibitions at cultural institutions involving thousands of artists. Check out photos that have been tagged #yabsticker.

The community has rallied around the message, and people from around the world have started adding their flair, their interpretation, their voice to the message. This message has grown by word of mouth, and has been spread by you, the community.

What happens next is up to you.

WORK TOGETHER. AND INVITE PEOPLE INTO YOUR WORLD.

Give someone a chance to shine, give others opportunities you’ve only dreamed of. Lend a hand, and remember that we’re all in this together.

LESSONS WE HAVE LEARNED FROM

"A Decade of You Are Beautiful"

"We recently released our book: A Decade of You Are Beautiful, which was over funded on Kickstarter by over 700 supporters. We took the opportunity to share our story, both the good and bad. Below is a preview of what we learned. Use it to fuel your creative work!"

Wise Words

Start anywhere. as long as it's now.

If you keep waiting for the perfect moment, you'll be waiting forever. Measure twice and cut once…but eventually you have to cut the board.

Take action. Embrace risk.

At some point you have to brave the climb, when there is no turning back. Make grand gestures, act unforgettably. Do things that scare the pants off you.

Create an impact. Do a lot with a little.

Do something for a stranger unexpectedly, unapologetically say it's ok to be human. Be audacious, a little dangerous, give gifts and have fun.

Work together. And invite people into your world.

Give someone a chance to shine, give others opportunities you’ve only dreamed of. Lend a hand, and remember that we’re all in this together.
